Not all the club's private land leases are suited for every kind of hunting. That's why they have so many to choose from. Yes, some get a lot of member pressure but far more get next to none. A simple review of past member reviews on the member reservation website will show you which ones better suit your preferences. In my experience its not other HSP members or the club's management who should get the blame for an unpleasant experience. They have no control over local's activities on surrounding land or trespassers. They are also not responsible for anyone's lack of hunting skills.
I've hunted public land and leased my own off and on through the years. Only thing I'll go on public land for anymore is to hike, pick mushrooms or occasionally fish. -

(November 24, 2014, 11:53 am)I was a member for a couple of years. my experience was far different from the reviews below. its not "perfect" by any means, but I never had to compete with quad runners, or other hunters setting up next to me. the units that I hunted had tons of turkey and great deer.
I agree that there is a lot of human use of the land, but the deer and turkeys are used to it, and change patterns just like on any land.
