  We have been at Whitefield for 7 years! My kids love it! They interact with kids from all the grade levels. They learn character vs all curriculum. The teachers love each child as their own, which as a mom is comforting. It is a smaller school (no more than 20 in a classroom), but is Pre-K - 12th. I've seen several occasions where a child is interested in a particular club and they meet with the Headmaster and get approval to start their club. They then gather friends & peers that want to join them & get a parent/teacher involved. It's learning about real life & working for your vision! People comment on how well behaved the children are, as well as, the quality of questions asked during field trips. Any time there is an issue, it is encouraged to be discussed and a solution obtained. In a parent's opinion, this is an excellent education option.

  As a teacher and a parent at Whitefield Academy, I'm so thankful for this community of people. Each year I watch in amazement as my children learn and grow in their faith and academic abilities under the direction of their caring teachers. As a teacher, I'm thankful for the small class sizes and the opportunity to learn more about our Creator through the disciplines of English and Humanities (reading).

  Looking for a Christ centered family friendly... teachers who love their work and students with a classical Christian education than Whitefield Academy is for you...we homeschooled our son for 5 years and is loving it and everyone has been so wonderful in helping him transition.

  This is our second year at Whitefield, and we couldn't be happier! If you're looking for a school with a family atmosphere then this is it. My daughter is in Kindergarten and sits at lunch with kids from Pre-K to 2nd. The older students help her with opening her tupperware and peeling her clementines. She also has a fifth grade buddy who reads with her. The kindergarten class is very close, and the parents enjoy hanging out together outside of school. The academics are second to none in Kansas City. In kindergarten, they are learning cursive, addition, subtraction, and reading. Whitefield is one of the only schools in Kansas City that hasn't given in to the fad of "sight words." They learn phonograms (the sounds letters and letter combinations make) in order to understand how letters work together to make words rather than just memorizing 200 words without understanding the concept. The art program is phenomenal, and the music program is awesome. My daughter knows all the verses to at least ten hymns because of the great music class. Recess is still important here as well as gym because the teachers know that they are training up the WHOLE student and not just their brains. The Christian aspect of the school is inseparable from the classical aspect. The Pre-K class memorizes 26 verses, showing that the school takes seriously the Old Testament command of writing scripture on our hearts and on our children's hearts. We are so grateful God led us to Whitefield!
