The districts of the Church of the Brethren are 24 regional divisions that serve to administer around 1000 congregations of the Church of the Brethren in the United States and Puerto Rico. Districts are divided along state and county lines with membership and geographic scope varying widely.
Organized 300 years ago in Germany, the Church of the Brethren is a Christian denomination devoted to its slogan of "continuing the work of Jesus. Peacefully. Simply. Together.".
We wish to live out our call as disciples through acts of service and ministry to the community of Ephrata and beyond. Finally, through it all, our commitment is to radiate the love and to create an environment where Jesus can transform lives and we can grow as devoted followers of Christ.

The Church of the Brethren grew out of the Pietist movement of the 17th and 18th centuries in Europe. While most Pietists sought to renew the church from within, some (the Radical Pietists) separated themselves from the state churches.
The Church of the Brethren is a Christian denomination with origins in the Schwarzenau Brethren that was organized in 1708 by Alexander Mack in Schwarzenau, Germany. The Brethren movement began as a combination of radical Pietist and Anabaptist ideas during the Protestant Reformation.
