Desert Adventures

If you’re thinking about kayaking in the area this is where you want to be! I went in October and the staff was super friendly, knowledgeable of the area, and everything was very reasonably priced. I rented a kayak for lake mead (which was beautiful!) and while returning the kayak our guide told us exactly where to see some big horn sheep that had wandered into a local neighborhood! Such an incredible experience overall that I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere else!!

No idea what company has the lowest rates. My buddy booked this tour. It was well run and good for anyone with average physical capabilities. Some companies have different types of vessels for tours. Desert Adventures has great kayaks. That's what you want.

Buy water shoes in advance if you plan to do this. You'll need them.

Desert Adventures are real pros. They really know what they are doing! We did the full day black canyon kayak that starts at Hoover (Boulder) dam. It was a very active trip. We were catered to from the minute we met all the way to our final drop off at the end of the day. We felt like VIPs! Matthew is the most amazing guide we have ever seen! He knows Black Canyon and Lake Mojave, including the history, animals and plants. He strived to get everyone in our group to personally experience the unique natural features of the area through brief stops and short hikes. So much to see and do! He came very well prepared with flashlights for cave exploration and many small items that made the trip very special. We want to come back and see how the tour changes outside of monsoon season. We will definitely be booking this trip again with Desert Adventures!

If you are in this area as a tourist this is the place to go for a guided tour. Me and my friend went for the Colorado kayak trip and it was absolutely amazing. Our guide David was the best. A real joy to be around all day, very knowledgeable, made the trip so much fun. So chill and relaxed, making sure to point out interesting things, not just on the river but on the shuttle home. Took photos of me and my friend together, to make sure we got the best experience. And the office staff is great as well, booking was a breeze. And the lunch they provide, top notch. I could go on and on.

Honestly had no complaints about the whole experience. Will definitely come back once we are in Vegas again!

What a fabulous team! Well organised (also for international visitors), excellent equipment, very concerned for our safety and welfare. We simple felt from Minute 1 we were in good hands. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. BTW, we did the day-trip kayak tour from Hoover Dam. Awesome!!!
