River Mountain Loop Trail Rest Area

A peaceful fenced area with shade and water right on the river mountain loop trail in an unsuspected spot next to the water reclamation center. Great pit stop for bike runs.

Great Ride!. I'm a new bicyclist. I started riding in December of 2016 and am riding this June of 2017. I started out on a huffy and a month or so into it bought a Giant Roam 3. My goal, after speaking with a local bike store employer about trails in Las Vegas, was to conquer the 30+ mile river mountain loop. I started with 5 miles, then 10, then with the new bike moved up to 18 then 21 then 28. All on city streets on various other bike trails. I finally got the nerve to try the River Mountain Loop Trail and completed it in... (checking my Samsung health app) 2 hours and 56 minutes. It was a difficult trail for me and I needed a lot of water. Beautiful scenery and not too crowded. A few fairly steep hills and some miles of small but consistent inclines which killed my legs. I've done it one more time since then. About 5 days later but I'll give it a rest for a while. My next goal is to ride this trail at least twice a week starting at 5 am. If you like biking trails you'll love this one. Just bring plenty of water.

I nice shaded picnic area with four tables and a water fountain. It's sheltered inside an accessible fence line. Numerous trees provide good shade during the day. There are two bike parking/lock bars in the trail that marks the rest stop.
