I have the utmost respect for Kasey. Not only is he a phenomenal guitarist, but he's the most patient and understanding guitar instructor I've met. If he knows what you want to achieve, he'll provide the proper tools and resources to make sure you meet your goals; if you're not sure what you'd like to achieve, Kasey will teach you the basics, and as he learns more about you, he'll start picking up on your interests and recommend particular pieces of music to learn, or suggest styles of music to listen to. Beyond that, he's nice, reasonable, and a great role model for anyone interesting in learning the guitar.
I highly recommend Kasey as a guitar teacher. He is patient and thorough. He pays attention to detail – how you hold your guitar, finger positioning, and all the other important things that make you comfortable when playing and that make you a better guitar player. He has been teaching my daughter for over a year and worked with her prior to her audition and acceptance into the Las Vegas Academy guitar program.
Kasey has taught my daughter left and right hand positioning techniques which have changed the way she plays and has been helpful to her during auditions and pieces she works on for school. He is also very encouraging of her when she writes her own music and works with her on those pieces as well.
I would highly recommend Kasey to anyone starting out with the guitar. And I would highly recommend him to anyone who already plays guitar and wants to step up their game and improve their playing.
We have been taking lessons for about 2 years with Kasey. During this time has gone out of his way to learn about my twin sons, keeping the lessons interesting. He is a gifted musician but also highly skilled at teaching. He works well with families and has a flexible schedule. He is fair but firm with students, and I highly recommend him.
Kasey is a remarkable teacher and performer. I’ve studied under him for a couple of years at this point. As my favorite music is rock and metal, we originally worked non-classical guitar study.
However, I have found a love and admiration for classical guitar. The technique and attention to detail it takes to play classical well is astonishing. Additionally, classical guitar is a wonderful way to study music theory.
Through working with Kasey, my classical and non-classical play, as well as my musical education, has progressed tremendously.
Looking back almost five years ago, I am so fortunate to have stumbled upon Kasey. Despite having played guitar off and on, Wanted to learn how to read music and begin the journey to play classical guitar and I cannot express how much I have enjoyed the journey. As an adult, my pace of picking up skill may have been a bit slow but Kasey has always been patient and made the experience enjoyable. You will not be disappointed. I am now going to begin working on other guitar styles with Kasey and look forward to my sessions with him.
