“Awesome camping spot that (with care) a Honda Fit can get to. Lots of spots all along the road or keep going and head to the end for beautiful seeping springs and great views of rugged mountains. Remember to bring everything you need and take it with you when you go! There are no facilities and that means no trash cans.”

“Great snow conditions and friendly staff. They have a complimentary ski lesson program for all ages. Great prices and super close to Las Vegas. The only problem I had was when we bought tickets on their website the screen automatically switched to my previous website. My bank showed pending so I thought all was well until we got to the resort. They sent us back and forth from the ticket line to the rental check in line 2 times spending an extra hour trying to check in. Then they said their is no sign of ticket purchases for me and my 2 sons. There is no WiFi or cell service on the mountain so they let us use their landlines to call our bank. Another hour later the bank said that they put a hold on our credit card because of being in Nevada without telling them first that we were travelling. After gearing up we were able to only ski for about an hour before our full day pass expired. So make sure you notify your bank before you travel. We were able to make several purchases in Nevada but this one caused a hold. We could not even buy food or water. Other than that it was a beautiful mountain with desert views. I definitely recommend going to Lee Canyon.”

“Hiked the loop today and it was great. Took me about 3 to 3.5 hours to complete the 6 miles. If you plan on hiking the whole loop, I recommend starting from the Lower Bristlecone trailhead so you can walk downhill back to your car when you finish at the Upper Loop trailhead.”

“It’s really nice to have a relaxing camping spot not too far from our home. It had beautiful views from it seemed like every camping lot. I could see all of Mt. Charleston while reading in my hammock. It’s a great escape from the city noise and the heat. It’s definitely cooler up there. I loved it and can’t wait to go back.”

“I've been coming here for years and it's still just a nice place tucked away from the rest of vegas. On top of it being about 20 degrees cooler it's not as busy as some of the other places. Definitely a place to check out just to get away.”

“It's a crowded tourist spot, but honestly it was exactly what I was expecting and I loved it. The staff were nice except for one (I suspect she was stressed due to a wedding party being there). The Fish and Chips were really good and the friends I had with me thought their burgers were great. One of them got an Elk burger which he said was good. The view is great and let's be honest, there's something fun about an old school mountain restaurant, bumps, old paint and all. I'd absolutely go back again if I am ever in the area.”

“A nice place to dip your toes in the river, launch your kayak, or take a hike. There is also a paved lot with an overview up above. Got a car you dont mind beating on or a 4x4? Head up the river wash and loop around the other side. Some fun stuff to explore. Grab a map at the ghost town before you head in. The folks there drew a map with points of interest in the river washes.”

“We had fun on this hike but to be honest we didn't find the mines at least as far as I know. It is easy to get off the main trail I think. We did find a cave sort of thing which we thought was the mine but I don't think so now. Uphill most of the hike.”

“I have been a camp dad twice and done fire watch or security here several times, as well as helped to build some of the facilities here and Camp Stimson is fantastic! The young women from my stake that come here for girls camp every other year have a wonderful experience and a really terrific time. It’s a great place for them to build their testimonies and faith in Jesus Christ, and it’s very helpful for those girls that might not have a home life that is beneficial to their spiritual growth. It has also strengthened my own testimony as I have watched the young women, including both of my daughters, interact and bond with each other, and learn about their Savior.”

“Great little camping spot in the Joshua tree forest. Great view of the area and not too bad with traffic. There is a lot of wildlife through there don't be surprised if you see a snake, bats or even a donkey or two. Would not go camping here when there's either extreme cold or extreme heat within the valley. Best in April-June or September, October.”

“One of my favorite places to venture off to for a hike. Mostly quiet and a lot cooler than the lower desert areas for a summer hike.”

“Spots are scattered all over and not always obvious, but this campground served as a pretty good backup when Red Rocks Campground was full, plus it's free! High clearance may be required to get to certain spots. Surprising amount of BLM officials patrolling the area so be good ;) About 40 minutes away from fantastic bouldering.”
