Valley of Fire State Park is only approximately 55 minutes from the Las Vegas strip, so it's a relatively short jaunt away and is well worth the time and low admission cost of $10.00 to enter the state park. It has fantastic geographical formations and the red and white bleached colored rock formations are breathtaking - the inter mingled colors really pop with different pattern & color variations, is absolutely fantastic.

This is a great place for children and adults. TIP: I would definitely stop into the visitors center and grab a map and additional information on how the valley of fire was formed millions of years ago. the map will outline all the different rock formations that are worth visiting. TIP: brig your own water!!! Remember, you are in a dessert!

This is an absolutely amazing area not far from Las Vegas with a brilliant, colorful landscape. We have gone in the winter, when it was comfortable to walk around. The rock formations and the colors are brilliant. There are various pullovers by the road where you can enjoy some of the smaller red rock formations, and there are also longer trails to take you through the part to sites far off the road. Good for either a short or long visit. Very dreamlike landscape. A real treasure.

The Valley of Fire Park is amazing. The roads and trails are well maintained and easy to navigate.
If your looking for some amazing views and awesome rock formations this is the place to visit. The price to drive in and around the park is 10$ per car. The trails are easy to manage and you can take your dog on most of them.
Just be sure to bring lots of water and snacks as they don't have any available at the park.
I would recommend taking some food and having a nice picnic on the rocks. There are plenty of awesome little places to explore. Well worth the small drive there!

We loved this place! We went there couple days ago! AMAZING! It has many trails! I would recommend you to bring your own drinks and food for this trip. Don't forget you camera! Park is very beautiful! If you are lucky enough you might see a bighorn sheep, like we did on our way back! I recommend traveling early in the morning.

The Valley of Fire, aptly named for its red rock formations scattered throughout the park. Containing a single main road that cuts through the Valley, you will be able to see all the main attractions. There's a convenient parking spot at main areas of interest. However if you are able, you should delve deeper into the valley and see what you can find. And if you want exceptional views of the valley, you may hike up some of the rocks. Many of them are formed at 30-35 degree slopes, and on a dry day they have amazing traction, making it very easy to climb up.

Bear in mind there's plenty of tourism in this spot, due to the popularity of the local area. It's not uncommon to see luxury sports cars on a nice day, or swarms of people as the afternoon approaches. Getting there early, just after sunrise, is the best time if you want to have your own experience in solitude.
