I was leaving New Hampshire after a couple of days of 'acting touristy'. White Mountains, seacoast, Maine, etc.
Had a few hours to kill so did a Google Maps search for "parks" and Moore's came up. A very pleasant one hour hike with some early fall color and a longish stroll along the Merrimack.
Nice way to leave the state.
Big thanks to the folks who were up early rebuilding a new entrance to the parking area. Very friendly and enjoyed chatting with them.
The views of the mountains in the back are absolutely stunning
Awesome place to take my grand kids and enjoy nature at it's best
Not exactly wild, Moore's Falls Conservation Area is another peaceful refuge from the suburban sprawl creeping into our rustic landscapes. Great for birding and nature walks. Nice for children and dogs. In the winter watch for Bald Eagles. White Tail deer are always around.
The Moore's Falls Conservation Area is located on the west side of NH Route 3A in Litchfield where powerlines cross the road. There's a kiosk at the parking area with some limited information. Behind the kiosk the trail heads down into the woods parallel to the powerlines.
