Hey I’m Bob I’m a 57 year old guy that’s worked in the plumbing trade for a lot of years. I’ve always felt pretty strong at the job every day until time and wear and tear took its toll. Well I started feeling soft and weak and slowing down and not happy about it. After meeting with Tyler he told me he could change all that and let me train you and you’ll be strong again. Well all I can say is I’m glad I did within the first few weeks of his program I’m feeling better and stronger than I have in years. And the best is yet to come says Tyler and I can’t wait ????????????????????️‍♀️

    Hello to all aspiring weightlifters!

Are you ready to take control of your strength training? If yes, your next step is to visit Tyler Austin for a free session and then commit to take him on as your personal trainer. In 2018, I decided it was time for me to take control. Here is my story. I have always been in good athletic shape. I have installed walls, walks, and patios for many years, moving tons of brick, sand, and stone. I spend a lot of time outdoors hiking in the mountains and paddling class 3 rivers as a trip leader for NH-AMC Paddlers. I heard people talk about core strength and I thought I had core strength, but honestly, I never went deep enough...that's a pun to be revealed when you start the program! In 2008, after years of hard work and feeling invincible, I had a serious back injury maneuvering a 300 pound bluestone tread for a customer. I felt a shock wave of pain pulse through my back and went home early that day to rest. 48 hours later, I could not walk and I was in tears from the pain. I compressed the disc between my L4 and L5 vertebrae and there was pressure on my spinal cord. I was severely restricted in strength and range of motion for over a year and it was tough on me. I lived in fear of experiencing that kind of pain again...it seemed like any random lift, like placing a a 40 pound bag of dog food in the car, could throw my back out for 3 months. So, I resolved to improve my health through increasing my flexibility and aerobic capacity, and limit any lift to 50 pounds. I thought this would solve things, but I was missing a vital piece, I was lacking core strength. Then I met with a friend who was being coached by Tyler and he could not stop talking about the benefits of the Starting Strength program in his life. I agreed to try it out and have been truly converted to Mark Rippetoe's techniques for increasing core strength. It has positively changed may life! I was developing chronic back pain and thought that I would need to live with the pain for the rest of my days. I was wrong. Within 6 months of careful and consistent training, my pain was gone and my deadlift went from 50 pounds (my self-imposed limit) to 225 pounds. I had to overcome some fear in the process, but Tyler was watching me closely and he always responded to my needs. I keenly remember when his confidence in my potential helped me take the leap to lift 100 pounds. It was a personal milestone of achievement for me, 10 years after my injury, and it would not have happened without Tyler. At first, I was worried that my lower back might completely blow out, but I relied on Tyler's experience with SS to coach me through the incremental steps and make progress. In our weekly session together, he expertly studied my personal body mechanics and taught me the correct technique for four primary lifts: the full squat, the deadlift, the bench press, and the overhead press. I would then cycle through these lifts on my own with two 90-minute sessions, which Tyler would monitor through a common app. His attention to detail, his patience, his sense of humor, and his dedication to overall health of body and mind make him a great coach. Whether you are new to this or you are an experienced weightlifter, Tyler will help you reach the next level of your personal strength.

I'm a 56 year old lifter. I've been lifting for just about 2 years now, and working with Tyler for 18 months of that time. I started because I wanted to become generally stronger, and because I wanted to reduce the number of time suffering from painful back "tweaks" that would lay me up for days.

I worked with Tyler primarily online, recording my lifts and sharing them with him for critique and coaching. He has a great eye and patiently helped me correct and improve my form on every lift -- pretty important when you are trying to avoid injury. As I emerged from my novice phase he also recommended programming that helped me continue my progress.

I seldom experience back problems now, and when I do they are less severe and I recover more quickly. I'm doing well and I owe a good portion of that success to the help I received from Tyler.

I highly recommend engaging him as coach if you want to get strong.

Tyler is a fantastic person and coach. In the short time that I worked with him (5 months) I gained over 100lbs on both my squat and deadlift. If you are looking to get stronger and value the Starting Strength system, he is your guy. Could not more highly recommend A++
