  Awesome spot. If your within 20 miles I’d drive here to eat. Bartenders were great, all seafood was fresh and delicious. Very reasonably priced food and great drinks. Happy Hour here has amazing specials and is the perfect way to start your evening. Plan on being here a long time because you will not want to leave. Everything was so good we came back the next day and did it all over again. My recommendation is order a bunch of appetizers and share them, wash it down with a few Manhattans and get the First Mate for your main course. Desserts were also great. They have a good sized dance floor and live music frequently. Eat at the bar comfortably or sit in the main dining area. I don’t know if they take reservations but I would make them if you have a large party or just want to assure yourself a table because this place was packed at 6. The chef and everyone in the kitchen is doing a great job I’d give them all a raise.

  Great atmosphere greets us as we walk into the restaurant. Our son is fascinated by the lobster tank. We are seated next to a little fireplace. Our table is a little small, but certainly adequate for our needs. Our waiter is very good at his job. Hospitality is definitely his thing. We order from a very coastal menu, in both design and content. Our food comes after a reasonable amount of time. Long enough to convince us of the quality, but short enough that we weren't waiting for a long time. The food is fantastic. It's good, flavorful, and the textures are amazing. We don't feel rushed while we eat. We feel relaxed, and we enjoy our food.
  My wife has never been to Jersey before and this was exactly the experience I was hoping she'd have. I'm still in recruitment mode, you know.

  It's nice to know some things don't change. I haven't been to the Crab Trap for several years and it's just as wonderful as ever. I had the chicken salad and fried oyster platter with mashed sweet potatoes and cole slaw. The food was delicious, the service prompt and friendly. Highly recommend the Crab Trap!

  Nice local seafood. It appears that the seafood is fresh as opposed to frozen. The service was good when we have been there, and the meals quick to the table. It appears to be very popular with the senior set, though that may be a factor of when we are usually in the area - afternoons.

  You can always count on two things at the crab trap. Good food and a wait for a table. This place is always crowded. It's never a question of "will I have to wait for a table" it's only a question of how long you will have to wait. Having said that, I've never had a bad meal and it is always worth the wait. Good quality food, nice sized portions and friendly staff.
