From customer service to clean up they went beyond the local roofers, who seem to have dominated Montclair. Sometimes it’s better to look beyond the neighborhood signs......
They showed up ( on time) worked all day with the same crew, not a pick up crew, left our home in better condition than it was before and most astonishing they return all emails texts and calls. Customer service has been outstanding

Came out for estimate for a repair, and very generous with time, and information. Did not try to sell, in fact quite the opposite. (E.g. offered that my repair effort did prior day probably worked, but offered tip on covering the nails). Discussed perhaps whole new roof in few years, but they offered my roof looked good and pending installation may in fact last many years. Gave suggestions about some wet fascia boards in different area of house over garage. So speaks loudly for honesty I believe, and very generous with time. Was very nice and seemed to care.

I had missing shingles at the peak of the roof after a storm. Tim answered his phone right away, came on time for the estimate and got the job done quickly and professionally. He also changed the old and damaged pipeflashing. I was able to contact him easily when needed. Would absolutely use this company again.

First Rate 1 Construction definitely lived up to their name. I called for an estimate and they arrived promptly and punctually the next day. Tony was responsive to my inquiries and was friendly and quickly assuaged my concerns about the job. He treated us like family and as if we were old friends. The estimate was fair and accurate as he had correctly assessed the work of replacing the existing roof, plywood ,fascia, and gutters as well providing an exact estimate that was the same at the end of the job as the beginning. They worked quickly, efficiently and cleanly. Jimmy and Renee were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and skillful and were responsive to my questions and concerns. Tony headed a large and experienced crew that worked quickly and carefully. I was amazed at how fast the job was completed as well as the quality and value for the price. They are definitely people that care more about satisfying customers and doing great work than just getting paid. I would most definitely use them again and have already recommended them to friends and family. I am so happy about the job they did knowing I no longer have to worry about my roof.

Would definitely recommend these guys. Not only did they come out quickly to check out our problem (we needed new gutters) but they came back a few days later to replace them. They were able to replace everything quickly, they look great and work like a charm. Reasonably priced too.
