It's a quiet place amongst the bustling streets of Hackensack. It transports you to a world in the past. Many locals probably do not know or care much to visit such a site but it definitely is worth a quick moment. 30 minutes and you will find your moment of Zen whether sitting on the wooden benches or hanging your foot off the bridge over the Hackensack River.
An absolute great place to relax with your boo, family or yourself. No smoking or alcohol. But still enjoy.
Always fascinated with Revolutionary War since grade school. Growing up in Bergen County helped. The retreat and the access the Hackensack river gave - make this a can't miss stop.
Peaceful, historic and beautiful views. On the banks of the Hackensack river. However. not much to do except for a rather short and pleasant stroll around the old buildings. You can't go in any of them except when they hold special events. No facilities. Parking on the street but quite limited. The area is open dawn to dusk. (Although I don't know how they would enforce that as there's no one around.)
The Bridge that saved a Nation. Check it out on line and visit when the opportunity presents itself. All volunteer but extraordinarily informed, enthusiastic and welcoming.
