  Well this was an interesting stop. And I'm glad I did. My sister and I were at the witches ball and we happened upon this prison. Lots of history here. The Boston strangler stayed here before he was the Boston strangler. They say it is haunted and lots of ghost Stories.
  
  The docents are well informed and excellent storytellers. Restrooms work clean and nice places to sit and relax.

  Awesome, fascinating, and a little unnerving. Some of the facts about this place will make you pause for a moment from the very surreal sorts of things that took place there. It's absolutely affordable, and a well put together museum.

  We had a great time! The staff was polite, personable, & very informative. We spent about an hour there, & I really liked that we were able to go at our own pace. There's not a guided tour, but you can do an audio tour for only $3.

Burlington County Prison Museum Association

The museum is open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sundays from noon until 4 p.m. The museum is closed on most holidays and the day after Thanksgiving. 609-265-5828 (Monday through Wednesday).
