  I decided to allow my mom to take my daughter to get her hair done, as I had just moved and didn't have time to do it before the start of school. So my mom chose this salon based off of referral. As a fellow licensed hair stylist, I am surprised at the stylist’s lack of professionalism. My daughter was scheduled for an appointment with a stylist named Jekia to get braids done in her real hair. Not only was it nothing like the picture, but the braids were extremely thin and beads constantly fell off any where my daughter went. Were the braids neat? Sure. But the partings were small to the point that the small beads overshadowed the braid. I contacted the stylist because I thought I would be able to rectify the situation. I wasn't looking for my money back because I respected the stylist's time and effort. However, when I expressed that I would not be able to leave them in long due to texture of my daughter's hair and the thinness of the braid, Jekia didn't even offer to help. She told me that she would take braids out and detangle starting at $50...on top of the $100 I already paid for a style that my daughter wasn't even going to be able to keep in? As I tried to clarify my concerns, she became very condescending - claiming that my daughter's "hair density" was related to how thin she made the braids. I am licensed in multiple states and have been in the business for years. I am well versed on hair anatomy and what she said did not have anything to do with the thinness of the braids. My mom even told her early on that the braids were thin and she did it how she wanted to anyway. After a while of speaking loops because she felt she was right, she told me that her supervisor would give me a call.

  I would like to say that my original review was based off of the stylist and not the salon as a whole. I originally gave one star due to the experience but had to change it to four stars once i realized it was an isolated issue. I was upset about how it was handled at the time. Once the review was posted, the salon owners immediately reached out to my mom about my daughter’s hair. They wanted my daughter to come in so that they can take it out. I was a little skeptical at first but I agreed because my mom assured me they were nothing short of genuine. When my mom arrived to the salon, the owners along with other stylist volunteered to take their valuable time to help get those tiny braids out of my daughter’s hair. I am so thankful to the owners and volunteer stylists who helped to get my daughters hair out on a Saturday- which tends to be one of the busiest days. I respect the owners for rectifying this i am thankful for their kind hands that helped prevent a lot of breakage in my daughter’s hair!

  If your looking for professional and beyond excellent service then this is the place for you! The stylist at Absolutely Fabulous Hair 2 are very professional and great at what they do. They offer an abundance of services. I've been a loyal customer since they opened and I enjoy my experience everytime I go.
