“Fascinating small colonial farmhouse, especially interesting because it depicts the lives of lower-class farmers and laborers instead of the usual upper-class landowners of the period who lived in mansions. Up in the attic are quilts, furnishings, and clothing from colonial days; downstairs are period furniture, laundry implements, a tiny "museum" behind glass, and other collectibles of interest. Dotting the property are outbuildings from the time, reminding visitors of how difficult rudimentary farm life could be in the 18th century. The annual strawberry and apple festivals are a lot of fun, with live music, demonstrations, food, and take-home goods to buy. There will be the usual apple pie contest at the upcoming 2018 apple festival, with house tours and Johnny Appleseed on hand to tell stories. Thanks to the Gandy volunteers for maintaining the farmstead and keeping the history going for current and future generations.”

“The Children’s Place in Ocean City and the whole team there are nothing short of amazing. My wife and I are among the millions of Grandparents nationwide who have had to take emergent custody of a small grandchild as a direct result of the Opiod crisis. This problem can have devastating impacts on small children, and tends to present immediate and unique challenges in childcare for the little ones we love suddenly find ourselves in full time care of. Kerry and all the great people on her staff were incredibly helpful to us during the most difficult of times as the staff there showed understanding and consistently proved themselves uniquely prepared for the challenge. More importantly, they’ve been amazing with our toddler grandson during a pivotal point in his development. They expertly fostered the advancement of his early skills and intellect, as well as social skills in complete congruence with our efforts at home. He has made friends many there, and he loved going there. Don’t trust childcare decisions (anywhere) to reviews and stars, anyone with an iphone can fire online missiles. Let’s face it, this is serious business and reputations are paramount. So, if you’re exploring pre-school, I encourage you to do your homework, and you will find that there are 35 year-old well-adjusted professionals who are lifelong friends with each other, dating back to being classmates at The Children’s Place in Ocean City. You will also find scores of happy, successfully developing children in attendance there now, and parents who are happily parting hard-earned money to send them there.
