“Oh my gosh! Where do I begin to describe this woman? She is absolutely amazing! Lori is the best speech therapist bar none. My 13 year old son Michael had been living with a speech impediment and a lisp since he could learn to speak. I had seen several professionals and doctors who had various suggestions to fixing it. I contacted the school and they said there was nothing that could really be done to fix it. So for years we lived with that opinion, hoping he would out grow it. As he grew older and it became worse and started affecting his confidence and self- esteem, I decided to try again and contacted an orthodontist who put braces on his teeth. Fast forward 18 months lather, the already straight teeth got slightly straighter but the the lisp was still there. Aghhh!!! I wondered what else could I do to help my child? Then one day, My son came back from school, feeling very upset that he was being bullied for the way he spoke. My heart sank and I knew I had to do something more to help him. I decided to start looking for an independent speech therapist. I had met Lori years earlier when she worked for early intervention and the children's hospital a a speech therapist. She was widely known as one of the best in the field then. I hadn't contacted her earlier to help my son because I felt she would not be available. So imagine my suprise when I found out she now had her own private practice! So I immediately contacted her. I made an appointment with her for my son and when we got there she reassured me that she would help us. She then sat my son down and reassured him that everything would be ok and that despite what the bullys at school said he was a smart and wonderful boy. Then she started working with him. After the evaluation, she gave him homework. She then told us that this was would be fixable in as little as two months and a max of 6 months if he did his homework. She also said that she would like for him to get speech therapy at school to help accelerate his recovery. She gave me the evaluation report and asked that if needed, the school was free to call her and that she would attend his 504 review meeting by phone. She kept her promise and attended the meeting by phone. To cut a long story short, the school gave my son speech twice a week for the next school year, till his lisp was corrected! I was sooooooo happy! Finally! Now after a couple of sessions with Lori speaks, and his doing his homework, I can confirm that my son's lisp is 50% corrected; gone! He is so happy that I often just start crying to see how excited he is to practice his speech lessons. If anybody is struggling like I did, save yourself the trouble, and call Lori. Thank you so much Lori, I don't know how to thank you enough for your expertise, kindness, understanding and commitment. You rock!!!”
