This is long so please bare with me......

    PROS......

I worked here for the first 8 months it had opened, I can say that I loved it as much as I hated it at times. The friends I had met pretty much became my family since we worked so closely together. I personally was a Picker which is outbound and was required to learn to drive a cherry picker. When they say that you have to be ok with heights they aren't kidding!!!

The heights never bothered me since I have never been afraid of them, but after being asked to become an Ambassador for our 3rd shift back half nights Picking department I finally saw why they made it so very clear in the application that you HAVE TO BE OK WITH THEM! I can't tell you how I would start training anywhere from 10 to 30 new pickers each week and after they were told they would have to drive the cherry picker to the ceiling multiple times a night while bending over grabbing things off the racks to put in your cage people would loose it.

Many would leave right then and there which made it easier to focus and give those who were able to handle the job and who read the description of the jobs. When Amazon assigns you a department you are stuck there for at least 90 days before you can see if you are able to transfer to another department, and that's only if they have the room to bring you to their side. All Ambassadors, Managers, PA's and the Learning department (Heather is what makes that place function, not kidding) all worked really well together and got along great. Everyone helped pitch in on things that needed to be done even if it's not in our job description, but that's just how I am. I go above and beyond.

All that aside we really had a great time each and every night with each other and enjoyed ourselves. I mean don't get me wrong, we had some rough nights and crew members who didn't last very long, but I would say 80% of the time it was great.

    CONS......

The lack of metal detectors that had at least a hundred plus people pushing through at once to get two 15 minute breaks and one half hour. Now keep in mind driving a cherry picker or any type of PIT you have to find a parking spot, turn it off, un hook yourself from the safety harnesses if you had to wear those, then walk about 3 mins to even get to the metal detectors. So then you have about 7-10 mins left of your 15 min break. But then you have to factor in your walk back to your PIT, put all your safety gear back on, turn your machine on and signed back into your RF scanner by the end of the 15 minutes. So you pretty much have a 15 min walking break. And for someone who smokes like me it was super hard to get used to.

The lunch room was super overcrowded during every break. So if you were buying lunch you best bet is to come in early and buy it then and put it in the fridge and pray no one takes your lunch. And YES this happened A LOT!!!!! The 10 hour days were easy to adjust to after about a month but once peek started we then were working 5 10 hour days but in reality is was more like 5 12-14hr days. The paychecks were great but for someone with 4 children at home it really takes a toll on yourself and your family.

Also if your sick with the flu and don't have sick time or any available time to use to cover your shift they will fire you without even asking questions. They don't care about your Drs notes or that your mom's had surgery and needs you or maybe a family emergency happened and you need to be out for more then 4 days you can pretty much say goodbye to your job unless you NEVER EVER EVER take time off!!!!

I purchased a coffee table on eBay and the seller shipped through this amazon fulfillment center. Amazon did a great job handling the box and it was delivered without any holes, cracks or dents.

    Thank you Amazon TEB3
