  Open waterfront park on the Kill Van Kull (Arthur), a narrow but deep inlet from the Hudson River and the Atlantic Ocean that leads into Newark Bay and Port Newark - one of the largest and most important shipping port on the East Coast and the world . The park lies on the tip of the Bayonne Peninsula, once a haven for Samuel Clemens, The Rockefeller family, and the likes and overlooks Staten Island, NY. The two states are connected by the Bayonne Bridge. The "twin" of this bridge is in Australia. Silent movie stars from the area would swim the span daily, for one great workout. The park includes tennis courts, kids playground with sprinklers, a waterfront walkway, and is easily accessible by public trans, car, or foot.

  I moved to Bayonne about two and a half years ago. This park was being redone. They did a great job with this park. They added a beach volleyball section. They have a little pathway that leads to a dog park. While along the path they also have workout stations as well.

  Waterfront walkway of the rapid waters of the KILL VAN KULL looking over
  to Staten Island. The BAYONNE BRIDGE still under construction making the thoroughfare higher for larger cargo ships to pass under. The tug boats are beauties constantly coming and going in the channel. Texaco tugs are history as Moran tugs based in S.I. make the way, now. No more tug boats working out of Bayonne.
  Beautiful park with walking paths along the waterfront, or not. Subject to open weather for those who enjoy the weather. Tennis courts, playgrounds for kids, parking lot, baseball field - there was a section for skate boards and bicycle dare devils alike. Don't know if it was taken out (hope not).
  All in all a nice park to visit.
