For me Franklin Books is a top notch store. Larry is friendly, knowledgeable and a truly pleasant person to deal with. I love browsing through Franklin Book's inventory online. Beautiful artwork and items that range from mainstream to interesting and eclectic. I had such a positive experience purchasing from Larry that I am a repeat customer. An honest man who has a wonderfully unique store.
I have purchased a lot of books (over 200) over the years. I was fortunate to discover Larry O’Shaughnessy and his bookstore, Franklin Books, when I was looking for the Charles Dickens’ set published by The Franklin Mint and the Oxford University Press. Larry is awesome to work with. He is very flexible in setting up payment plans, follows up any questions you might have and when the books are sent, they are sent in a timely manner and well packed. The books I received were in excellent condition and were exactly as advertised. Larry is very intelligent, knowledgeable, professional and gives great customer service! I would highly recommend Franklin Books to anyone interested in high quality leather bound books and artwork. I have never been disappointed in the books or the services I received. When I work with Larry I know that I can trust him implicitly in his knowledge and that I’m getting the true thing. He is honest, ethical, and has integrity which says a lot in my book considering that there are a lot of scam artists on the internet.
This website has so many great books, from leather bound, to signed first editions, and more, it was hard to choose! I just bought a new house with my first home office, so I called the store for more information and Larry was very helpful in aiding my search for the perfect purchase to start my collection. I ordered a collection all the way across the country and received the delivery surprisingly quick! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to add to their private library!
I was rather surprised to see this negative review of Franklin Books. I have dealt with Larry for several years both buying and selling without incident. He has always been more than helpful, extremely flexible, knowledgeable, and always accommodating when I visit. A little research of "Dies Faustus" looks like he has a habit of leaving bad reviews for people who are not interested in what he's selling. I'd take his rant with a grain of salt. You can have complete confidence when dealing with Franklin books.
