  I have been a client at Pennington Veterinary Care Center since my first dog. Before adopting my first dog, I researched veterinary practices in my area and through listening to many personal accounts from coworkers and friends Pennington Veterinary Care Center came highly recommended. I’m so grateful I chose them for my dog. As everyone believes their own dog is the most special dog on the planet, the staff treated mine like he was the most special dog that walked into the office. Although my dog can be 20lbs of absolute terror when he goes to the vet, they cared about and for him like their own. Every staff member speaks to me in a friendly and professional manner, regardless of how frustrated I became with his ever growing medical and physical problems. The staff is full of knowledgeable people who were able to help me with various situations I came across over the years, from which dog food would be best for my rescue dog that requires a special diet and supplements to who I should contact about rabid animals on my farm in Amwell Valley. I personally have not boarded my pets at the clinic, but have heard many positive experiences. Dogs and cats who get stressed by are frequently found cuddling with employees, pets who need special medical attention (medications or physical therapy) getting the proper care and attention, and owners very much relieved knowing that the vets are notified immediately of any abnormality. The pets boarding always receive great treatment and care. Overall, I know my pets and I will always be cared for like we are family at Pennington Veterinary Care Center.

  I have been working at Pennington Vet as a junior assistant for seven months. One of my main responsibilities is taking care of the animals that stay in our kennel. Over the summer, I have spent numerous hours in the kennel as I am a high school student and on break.
  
  We get two-hour shifts to take care of the boarders during the week. I have recently been covering these shifts. When I get to work, my first priority in the kennel is to take the dogs outside for a bathroom break. I make sure their kennel is clean, and give them their morning meal and a fresh bowl of water. I will give any medicines that they may receive. However, if they get insulin, or I think I will have trouble, I get the help of an assistant or vet tech, as they are qualified to do it. This system has worked well. I have never had issues administering the proper medication for the boarders.
  
  When the boarders go home, it is procedure to do a deep clean of the kennels, where we use bleach and water and scrub everything down to prevent the spread of infection and viruses. If there is a dog or cat that is not up to date on its vaccinations, it is placed in an isolation room so no other boarders are exposed to any possible illnesses.
  
  The owner of the practice is nothing short of professional. While some may not like her no-nonsense management style, it keeps things organized in the office and makes the operation run smoothly. I have learned so much in the months that I have been working here, and as an animal lover, I would wholeheartedly say that this practice is a good place to take your pets.
