I live in Lakewood NJ a growing town of more than a 100k Orthodox jews living here , the state police is usually not such a welcoming sight in Lakewood, as that would indicate an expensive ticket blitz around our town, but my perception changed as today on 8/22/2018 I was waiting online in wawa in lakewood nj to pay for my coffee, and in front of me is a state trooper in work uniform paying for his lunch, when it came my turn to pay, the cashier tells me to my shock that the state trooper has paid for my coffee!! And ‏i am a orthodox Jewish male and not used to receiving gifts from any stranger (the jewish population here in lakewood is pretty much hated here) So to get my coffee paid for on a random sunny Wednesday by a random sweet new Jersey state trooper is refreshing as can be!!! Thanks guys for keeping me safe and for keeping my eyes open with the free coffee :)”
