(August 22, 2018, 1:21 pm)With the help from Par at Scan Am Tours, we had a wonderful 15 day trip through Norway. There were no glitches. We very much appreciated the option to select the number of days we wanted to visit in each area, and have Par book our transportation and lodging based on our itinerary. If we have the opportunity to travel to Scandinavia again, Scan Am Tours will be our first choice!

(August 11, 2018, 6:52 pm)We just returned from Norway on an Independent Tour Scandinavian American World Tours put together for us, were very pleased with the itinerary, transfers, hotels and rooms selected. Everything went as planned. We travel quite often abroad but never to Norway, and were looking to travel independent but needed a little help on planning, this agency was the perfect solution, the representative assisted in every question we had prior. Can't say enough how pleased we are. Definitely recommend and will use again.

(August 1, 2018, 11:57 am)Had a wonderful trip on Scandinavian Capitals tour. Thanks Giuseppe. All the connections, tickets, transfers, vouchers, etc worked out just fine. Hotter than expected, 80's in Stockholm! Residents said it was near-record heat. Finally cooled off in Bergen, mid-60s. Really enjoyed Norway in a Nutshell. Everyone in all the cities we visited were very friendly and helpful; and could be very funny, in English!
COPENHAGEN
- Imperial Hotel a little run-down: halls could use paint job, furniture fabric worn smooth
- terrific location, close to Stroget pedestrian street and to Tivoli Gardens
- here and at almost all other hotels we had to ask for in-room fans in order to feel comfortable in the rooms.
STOCKHOLM
- Train ticket from Lund to Stockholm Sodra (='South') includes ride from Sodra to Stockholm Central on commuter train.
- Clarion Sign gorgeous hotel. Perhaps the biggest breakfast buffet I've ever seen!
- Terrific location.
- To get to Arland airport, used Arland Express train. 5-minute walk from Clarion. 20-minute ride, departs every 15 minutes. During summer, 2-for-1 price of 300 Swedish Krona (usually 300 is cost for only one ticket). Taxi roughly 500 krona.
OSLO
- Thon Cecil Hotel is terrific location, BUT need to tell visitors that entrance is on ROZENKRANZ Gate, around the corner from its business address of Storgata.
- small room, but certainly ok. coldest room temperature, which meant most comfortable.
FLAM
- Fletheim hotel terrific. Never thought such a tiny town would have such a great hotel. Staying overnight after train ride, before ferry, was excellent idea. Doing Nutshell in one day would have been exhausting - and crazy. Flam was a very pleasant rest stop after being in 3 major cities.
- Flambana train was nothing like the death-defying ride I expected. Very comfortable ride, terrific scenery. What was death-defying was the bus ride from Gudvangen down the zigzag road. Fjords ferry ride was smooth as silk, despite overcast and some rain. Gorgeous scenery. All connections worked perfectly.
BERGEN
Augustin hotel had smallest room. A little out of the way, but location not too bad since Bergen is pretty small. ( maybe had to book us there because we reserved the trip late). Bergen is very picturesque. One day is enough. -

(August 22, 2015, 11:17 pm)These people are the best!! My husband and I just spent 3 wks. in Scandinavia, arranging the trip on fairly short notice, and it was fabulous. Mikael worked like crazy to make sure we saw everything we wanted to, and all we had to do was pull out the appropriate ticket or voucher. I would work with these people again in a heartbeat.
