  A TRUE health food store, similar to George Street Co-op in New Brunswick, the ONLY two that I know of in central Jersey-nothing like GNC or any other vitamin store which basically sells GARBAGE and calls it health food (not too different from liquor stores, candy stores, local drug dealers, etc., who only exist to make a profit and don't really care about you or your health). Green Acres, by contrast, sells REAL and AFFORDABLE herbal medicine, such as goldenseal root extract, myrrh, foti, astragalus, American ginseng, pygeum, saw palmetto and many other medicinal herbs and extracts from them, most, if not all of which, are from plants-which cannot be patented as medicine by pharmaceutical companies in the U.S.-but are extensively used in Europe and throughout the rest of the world.

  So my aunt gave me a Gift Certificate for Christmas for Green Acres and I swear it was the best gift ever! I didn't even know this place existed so close to where I live and it had all the essential things I needed from supplements to snacks to the amazing juice bar.
  
  I'm big on supporting local small businesses who provide amazing customer service like one, with amazon buying wholefoods, I know I will be using my purchasing power to help keep businesses like this alive and thriving.

  Last night was my first time and I'm totally excited by the selection of products. Can't wait to shop here again. I live near Princeton but I will make the drive to Green Acres because the selection is great in a small place. It's not as overwhelming as Whole Foods. Our natural store on Nassau is great too but doesn't carry everything that Green Acres does.
