The location on the map is not quite right. He is a bit further north right at the corner of Sidney and Behmer. You will see a sign.
Steve is the most professional and most knowledgeable mechanic that I have met in the Tri-State Area. He does high-quality service and gives you always an honest and fair assessment.
Our first car was a 2002 Dodge Neon with over 200,000 miles and Steve said he could fix the car but that it would cost quite a bit and a newer used car would make more sense considering the miles I was driving. I listened to him and it was one of the best choices I have ever made so far in my life. We went to another mechanic in Brooklyn with the Dodge and the guy was trying to convince us not to buy another car and that the repairs would "only" cost $2,500...
When does oil changes he always checks out tires, brakes etc. without charging anything extra. Things that other repair shops will not do...
He is just an honest and good man. It is too bad our society has less and less good people like Steve.
I would recommend to anyone who means something special to me.

Unfortunately, others who have written negatively about Steve don't know the old adage, "If you have nothing nice to say about someone, say nothing at all." I have plenty of good things to say about this man. First,he is one of the most honest mechanics I have met. He tells you his honest assessment of your vehicle's condition, and he's been right every time so far (my finance and I have been customers over three years).
Second - his prices are fair. For a number of years, I was working with a dealership, as I have a Lexus. When I went to Steve, my costs dropped 10-fold. And they have remained so, with only an increase in the quality of service. Steve is a "24-7" guy; he will always let you know when he is available, and he keeps his word.
Third, he is one of the most interesting guys I have ever met. He grew up in the New York/New Jersey area, and knows a great deal about the history of the region, about the environment, and many other things.
Finally, can he come across a little gruff? Yes -- however, he is, in my impression, a big ol' bear - gruffness much more intimidating than his true nature. If you treat him with kindness, like every good human being, he will return the favor.
