  Has the only nude beach in NJ, far as I'm aware. And there are tent camping sights on the island, which makes it one of the few true beach camping spots in NJ.
  A bit pricey tho I believe they charge by car so it could actually be cheaper than going to NJ municipal beaches with your family.

  Very well organized and a much more pleasant experience than the overly crowded beaches to the south. Well worth the $15, you'll pay that or more just in parking elsewhere. Nice beaches and cool military ruins.

  This place is gorgeous. I think the best part to swim is the south island side where it is nice and calm and cool to explore, the inner small bay between skeleton island and south island is incredibly serene. If you come on the weekend, make sure to call and ask if the beach is open because they close it after it gets too full, don't wait in traffic just to see the sign that says they're closed. I recommend going early or later but not midday. If it is closed you can hang out in hartshorn woods park where there is a light house with a cool view and check with them later
