  This is an amazing place, and our family member has been there 4 times in the last 20 years. The entire staff is extremely caring, patient and helpful. We've met staff members that have been there over 30 years! Several of them remember our family member from previous stays. The rehab therapists are excellent and I've never seen a higher staff to patient ratio anywhere. The facilities are super clean and our family member is very well taken care of. They are nearly finished with a major renovation. We wish they offered long-term assisted living.

  I have the nices prettiest nurse with black hair and she had surgery too and shes really nice and helpful and is so helpful and sweet i love me PT pete he is awesome the staff is so friendly and also my case manager and social worker are really awesome they fight really hard to my insurance to help me stay they are just really awesome and sweet people everyone is so nice i love my techs too i am a people person so i get a long with everyone one day i got frustrated in the kitchen and used foul language and felt bad about it afterward the hospital RWJ had me on seroquel so it made me psychotic and i felt really bad afterwards when i came to my senses i quit taking it but this place helped me so much to advance to walkin especially my PT pete and the OTs are awesome but i really grew to love pete lol thank god for these people ????

  Most of the staff is impressively talented and engaged with patients. They are doing the best they can with usually awful situations. Things to consider:
  
  - Parients receive three hours of actual therapy during weekdays and two hours ‘total’ on weekends. Some patients would do better at home being more active.
  - They put alarms on beds and chairs to alert staff if patients get up (even on the days of discharge when a patient should be well enough to walk). I don’t like it. They will tell you it’s for the safety of the patient but really it’s because they are understaffed. Staffing has more to do with the econimics of the medical system in the US, not the overworked nurses, etc.
  - Insist on speaking with decision makers and ask open ended questions. Very few on the team will give definitive answers and clearly that’s what you want. You want timelines, goals, and specifics. It’s your right and obligation to ask a question as many times to get a clear answer.
  - They get paid more for evaluations and they take every opportunity they can to do anything in the name of evaluation. Your family member wants therapy!
  - The average stay is 10 to 14 days. And it seems to take minimally two days to get wheels moving for discharge.
  
  Again, they are mostly smart and talented and engaged in care. They are also overworked. The burden is on you to get the results and answers you want to make yourself comfortable.

  I'm shocked at the bad reviews. If your in a situation and need real rehab. There is no better place you can go. Yes, it's busy and maybe a little understaffed on weekends. My mother has been lucky enough to have been able to go there twice. Hard place to get in unless your insurance approves it. They did all they could to help her get back on her feet. These are true professional. Not your run of the mill rehab place. Staff is friendly, answered my questions and concerns. Keep in mind this is a real rehab facility. No chandeliers and oriental carpets. Only true 24hr professionals caring for well being.
