Visiting Angels

My family had a wonderful experience with Visiting Angels in early 2022. My father experienced a broken wrist on top of his Parkinson’s Disease, and the combination of the two conditions left us with an urgent need for a home health aide. We were impressed with Steve and the office staff’s prompt response to our inquiry. Steve came to my dad’s house to meet with our family and discuss options; it was incredibly helpful and calming given that we were first time users of home health aides. We ended up taking Steve’s recommendation to have a live in aide, and she was wonderful!! We worked with Patience - she took excellent care of my dad over a three week period. She helped him around the house and with cooking healthy meals, she helped him with his daily personal care, and she accompanied him on walks. She was kind and reliable. We hope that my dad will stay well enough to live on his own going forward, but if we need services, we’d actively seek an opportunity to work again with Patience or other home health aides in the Visiting Angels network. Visiting Angels in Wall, NJ gave us a great experience for first time users of a home care. They were so kind and helpful and caring through the whole experience. Donna was so helpful and understanding, Steve was always just truly concerned, Gloria the RN was also so helpful with suggestions and information and the caregivers we had were nice. We had Doris Fraser the most and she was so caring and understanding with mom as she had dementia and having a new person in the house was new to mom. Doris had the warmest smile and we were glad to have her as well as the rest of the Wall township visiting angels team. They really all worked together in the care of mom and helping us to navigate it all as well.

I ended up not going with home care, we had to move mom into a nursing home, and this was about a month ago, but I remember they were the only one who called back on a weekend. The person on the phone was very kind and helpful. He was reassuring and told me I could call him anytime with questions, if I just needed someone to talk to. If we were going with home care, they would be the ones to call first.

We have been with Visiting Angels for almost 5 years. At our first in-person interview with Steve, we felt comfortable and confident that our mother would be cared for in a professional and caring way. The aids are very caring and kind to our mother. They help her with anything she needs and are great company too. Donna, the schedule coordinator, is friendly and organized. She almost always accommodates us in any last minute changes and can find subs to fill in for an infrequent open shift.
Terry, the case nurse, is thorough and efficient with our mother's case. She calls/visits our mother and us and is in contact with her aids on mom's well being. Visiting Angels has given us great peace of mind in the caring of our mother.
