“We've been going to Phil's for over 10 years and the food is amazing! The staff are usually friendly. The portions are large, so plan to share or have leftovers. There is no seating inside, it's really for takeout. The prices are very reasonable and they'll modify things or give you "side" portions if you ask. They also do very large orders for catering.”

“Stop #7 on our Summer Hot Dog Joint and Diner tour 2018...and a long time favorite, The Windmill Hot Dogs in Freehold, NJ. Windmill is an icon on the Jersey Shore, and rightly so. Their large flat grilled snappy natural casing dogs are excellent. I prefer mine kind of well done, split open and a bit charred. They are served on regular white rolls. My son Jason's dog was plain (of course). I love topping mine with the combination of their spicy brown mustard and hot pepper relish. The hot pepper relish is what pushes these dogs over the top for me. I paired my dogs up with their famous cheese fries. Just awesome...”

“This is a real nice place. Scenic views. Cool atmosphere of being in such an old building. Nice variety on the menu but not 1000 things. They have a salad bar too which is good. Last night we all enjoyed our meals, but of particular note were the pork chops. They were on the specials menu, but they have a pork chop dish on the regular menu too. Whatever seasoning they put on them, combined with expert cooking, made them fantastic. Might have been the best pork chops I've ever eaten. Next time I go I will be checking those out for sure. Only downside I would say is that they are a tad expensive. Not crazy. But maybe 3-5 bucks more per plate than some of the competition. Probably worth it for the other factors mentioned above. I know we'll be back soon.”

“I've been going to this place since I was a little child. I'm 64 now. We use to bring soda bottles to get penny candy. It has been around long before I was born. Has changed hands a few times but has expanded into quite a great place. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is great. Their subs are big and the best. Deli with wide variety. Staff is excellent. For a country store you can't beat it.”

“Came here with my husband for breakfast. We waited a bit for our food, maybe 30 minutes. We both had waffles, 2 eggs (poached) and bacon. When it came out the poached eggs were atop one huge waffle. It wasn't bad, but it was unusual to see eggs on waffles. The food was okay. The waitress was nice. The place is a bit hidden as it's behind some buildings on main Street. Prices were good as the whole thing came out to about 22 dollars. Small old school dining room with a counter.”
