(August 19, 2018, 2:59 pm)Short but steep hike. Goes up a bit under 1,000 feet in less than a mile. The trail is wide and made of gravel, with occasional big ankle-buster rocks. Be careful of the washout channels/trenches in various spots that could also roll an ankle. There are benches made of logs along the way. Not much of a view from the top, at least in the summer.
I also did the red trail/wildflower area. Make sure you bring bug spray! I ended up with 5 or 6 mosquito bites in the area near the stream. -

(July 29, 2018, 9:23 am)Nice park with plenty of hiking trails. Great view of the NYC skyline from the Top of Tourne. Take the red trail to the yellow trail for the view. Make sure to take the side trail to Mouse Cradle Balancing Rock.

(June 25, 2018, 6:44 pm)It's not a very large reservation, but there are quite a few trails where you can walk for an hour or two without seeing a road or a house anywhere in sight. There are some interesting boulders and a meadow of sorts where trees used to grow, and there's a high peak and a greater than moderate climb to it from which you can see the New York skyline.
