  I suffered with pilonidal problems for 10 years, I will hands down say that Dr. Shrager is fantastic. I cant say enough good things about him and the process of a cleft lift with him. I was able to get back to life quickly and with minimal to no pain or discomfort. He is worth exploring if you are suffering from anything pilonidal related.

  After being diagnosed with a Pilonidial cyst and told that I needed surgery, I went with it at holy name hospital. I thought that would be the end of it and I’d get back to normal shortly.
  Unfortunately, that was not the case. I was so scared that I’d never be able to sit or lay on my back again. After doing some research online, I found Dr.Brian Shrager and went in for a consultation. Immediately I realized that he’s the expert and I could tell the difference between the surgeon who botched my first surgery. He explained everything thoroughly and told me I needed the cleft lift procedure. I was really sad that I needed to have surgery again but I had faith that Dr.Shrager would do it right.
  
  Maria who works at the front desk is an absolute angel. She walked me through everything from beginning to end. My surgery went well. I am still recovering almost 4 months later. I finally got back to work. I still need a donut pillow to get around but I am hoping in a few months time I will heal completely.
  Highly recommend Dr.Shrager and this place to end your Pilonidial nightmare.

  After watching my son suffer from Pilonidal Disease and being on antibiotics for almost 2 years, we were SO grateful to have found the FB Pilonidal Disease group which pointed us to Dr. Shrager and the Pilonidal Treatment Center of NJ. Dr. Shrager's team regularly communicated and booked him for surgery as soon as possible while accommodating his college schedule. Dr. Shrager was informative, positive, compassionate, and an incredibly competent surgeon! My son is now just 3 weeks post-Cleft Lift surgery. He has no pain and is finally free of his pilonidal cysts. Thank you Dr. Shrager!

  These reviews are how I ended up finding Dr. Shrager. After over 6 years of dealing with this and having multiple failed surgeries I had almost given up until I found PTCNJ.
  Upon reaching out, Maria was extremely helpful with answering my questions and getting my consultation scheduled. After meeting with Dr. Shrager I knew this was the best option of treatment for me. I finally feel like I can put this thing behind me and live my life fully.

  Finally my incision has healed and I couldn’t be happier.
  I wanted to share my experience with pilonidal disease and cleft lift with this group. I was diagnosed with pilonidal disease in 2015 when I was still in India at that time I got a drainage done. I was doing fine until January 2018 when I had my first recurrence but by that time I had moved to the US. I was a student then so I used the antibiotics given by my Indian doctor and that helped me.
  After that another recurrence happened in November 2019 and that time I was in a lot of pain. Again I used antibiotics to get the abscess out. Then again I got laser surgery in January 2020 in India from same doctor. And after that I had another recurrence in November 2020 after which it became a monthly thing. My whole quality of life got disrupted, I couldn’t do anything and I was really depressed. In Feb 2021 I started looking for a second opinion here in the US and that is when I came across Dr Brian Shrager’s PTCNJ and as it’s name suggest it’s a proper pilonidal treatment center which is so rare. I was lucky that it was nearby only. My first meeting with Dr Shrager gave me so much of information and understanding of this disease that I never knew and that’s when I instantly felt I m at the right place. I didn’t want to immediately go to cleft lift so I asked him if I can first try getting pit picking and see if that can help for some time and he did tell me that it might not be that successful considering I have had this for quite sometime. But anyways we went with pit picking and in my case it failed and it never healed so then I decided to go for cleft lift. I have no regrets at all getting it done. I feel so relieved now that it’s hard to explain. My recovery has been quite time taking but I don’t mind it at all as I am satisfied with the results.
  A big shoutout to Dr Shrager and his staff for being so amazing, they were there to help throughout, I used to send multiple emails with numerous questions but they always answered and explained and gave me reassurance.
  So anyone who has been suffering from this awful disease please do your research and go to a specialist like Dr Shrager who knows what they are doing and who understands the problem.
