Fantastic views of NYC skyscrapers on a clear day! This was the site of the winter quarters for Stark's Brigade of Washington's Colonial Army from December of 1779 to June of 1780. This monument was erected ca. 1900 when road construction threatened the soldier's huts. A local farmer had the stones from the fireplaces saved and built into this monument.
