Institute for Hand & Arm Surgery

After having numerous surgeries at the Hospital for Special Surgery to correct several problems in my hand, elbow and shoulder, I felt I would never be able to use my right arm again. After a year of dealing with severe pain and an inability to use my right arm I reached out to several surgeons who told me I would have to learn to live with my arm as is. That was until I met Dr. Tan. He was the only surgeon to sit with me and listen to me. He said he felt he could help me but that it would necessitate a few surgeries. Dr. Tan saved my arm. Where I had given up all hope he has enabled me to have full use of my hand, elbow and shoulder. I have complete faith in Dr. Tan and will be forever grateful. Since the surgeries I have been able to take up woodworking (photos attached). That was impossible prior to Dr. Tan.

Great experience. Pre-op and post op visits were excellent. Dr. Tan did an incredible job on my bicep tendon. Excellent results. Pleasure doing rehabilitation with the amazing occupational therapist. Very knowledgable and helpful throughout the whole process. Highly recommend Dr. Tan and his team.

I had a bad accident in which I fractured my wrist and had to have surgery on my elbow. Dr. Tan, has been very personable, kind and professional. One of his great qualities is that he takes his time to show you and explain to you the x-ray's related to your injuries in plain language, so the patient can understand what they looking at and also explains to you the steps that he will be taken to correct the injury.
Couple weeks after the surgery he shows you again the after x-ray's results of the surgery.
I found that the secretaries were always on point and in touch with me over the phone for any changes or insurance transactions that had to be made.
