My family and I went in Saturday for the first time doing glass blowing. It was amazing!! Our instructor, Hannah, was excellent! I have a fear of being burned. I don’t even like taking things out of the oven at home, but I wanted to do this unique activity. Hannah was so great. She made me and my 11 year old daughter feel at ease. She is extremely thorough and observant. She made sure we had a very safe experience. I cannot tell you enough how great this place is. I was impressed through and through. I trusted her with my daughter, and she exceeded my expectations. Thank you Hannah for a amazing time!!
Great experience! Very unique team building exercise and you learn some really cool things in the process! Something everyone should have on their bucket list!
I have been glassblowing now for about a year in the Morris County School of Glass Studio. Time for an update of my previous review of a year ago. Is it still fun? Do I still like it?
Yes, I do. In fact I love it.
Glassblowing is a terrific long term hobby for me. The Studio is still fantastic and I very much enjoy working with other students and instructors who have become friends. One benefit of the Studio is that the instructors Michelle, Hannah and Jason are excellent glassblowing artists in their own right and are skilled and supportive to novice glassblowers like myself. I work on pieces in so called Labs, wherein my benchmate and I work semi-independently on our new pieces for a couple of hours and challenge each other in consolidating our skills and developing new skills. It is always a pleasure to see and work with other students in the Studio and see how a glassblowing community is forming.
I would love to see the group of regular glassblowers in the Studio expanding. Try out some of the Studios events. You may also want to visit a free Open House Demo that the Studio conducts on a fairly regular basis. Sign up for the free newsletter so you won’t miss the Announcement.
This place is AWESOME!!! I celebrated my birthday there and they were so accommodating. They have a little covered picnic area outside, so you can order in or bring food in. Ardi, Lauren, and Drew were great and explained everything. They were there to help out with your glass item when it needed some finishing touches. They even made us a couple bonus items, which was nice of them. I would highly recommended taking a class here.
A knowledgeable and friendly group of instructors helped me check off this bucket list item.
Over the course of two sessions the workshop gave me a great chance to orient to the space, handle the tools and manipulate the medium in a fun, safe setting. I took advantage of the summer sale but the value couldn’t be beat in my opinion even at full price.
