  I'm very pleased with my post total-knee-replacement physical therapy at Northern Hills. The entire team from the physical therapists to the schedulers and support staff are professional, friendly, and efficient. The first positive sign was when Rita and Doctor Chris juggled internal scheduling to move up the timing of my initial assessment by several days to accommodate my desire to quickly transition to Outpatient PT. There are three DPTs as well as other qualified physical therapists and all have been excellent. If that last comment makes you feel you will be passed around to different people, don't worry. One of the DPTs will engage with you and manage your care, in my case Dr. Coleen who is excellent. They'll provide hands-on therapy, direction to other staff members, and ongoing direct observation and monitoring of your progress. From day one, there is a detailed written record of your condition, progress, and the specific exercises/activities that constitute your current plan of care that guides your sessions. This is key since even Physical Therapists need to take days off and go on holiday. I've never felt an interruption of the continuity and progress of my treatment plan. I have had other Physical Therapy in the past at a local, well known rehabilitation center where the staff was well qualified and credentialed. However, I felt there were too many sessions that I was “parked” on exercise equipment because the therapists were either over-extended with multiple patients or burdened with the internal administrivia that goes along with many large organizations. For me, Northern Hills simply provides a superior level of care. I have never felt abandoned to a baby-sitting exercise machine although they are used as tools of the rehab process. Although my primary DPT understandably works with more than one patient during each session, there is always a qualified therapist available under her direction to immediately guide my activity and monitor progress. Since the Northern Hills facility is a perfect size, you are seldom out of the line of sight of your primary therapist and are not left waiting between exercises or activities. The DPT guiding your care is accessible and available to answer questions and make observations. I also like that as my range of motion and strength have increased, exercises have been modified or substituted to maintain constant progress. They won’t just create an exercise program that you simply repeat, it will be dynamic to advance your progress. Since there are minimal signs, I wouldn’t have known that Northern Hills even existed if my home-based physical therapist hadn’t mentioned that she consistently heard great feedback about them. I’m so glad I checked them out and visited the location. In my opinion, Northern Hills is a local gem of Physical Therapy, you don’t have to travel further to get GREAT Physical Therapy.

  I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all the members at the Northern Hills PT in Flanders, NJ. I had upper back/neck pain and needed PT. I selected your location and was truly impressed with the entire operation. The reception, patient focus ad professional dedication of your team was exceptional. Your smiles, friendliness and encouragement were awesome and made my PT experience great! I am so thankful to have such a great people wanting to help me get healthy and in shape for a new school year. Thanks again for a truly pleasurable experience! I wish you all the best and continued success in your business of helping other people.

  The office staff are kind, diligent, and timely. They looked into my insurance and advised me of information clearly. My appointments were booked in a timely manner with a few booked so as to make sure I'm on the calendar. When the therapist was very busy, I was put on a cancellation list and did receive a call to come in. The therapists are wonderful. Dr. Chris (owner of practice who has treated me prior) is extremely professional, patient, and kind. The office is always clean. Dr. Colleen (who I'm seeing now) is professional, patient, and kind as well. She teaches me the skills not only telling me but showing me. She does not push me beyond my limits accepting them before I even do. She reviews everything with me carefully especially from one session to the next. She provides referrals as needed and a lot of education. Homework assignments are also provided on "hard" index cards with pictures and wording with a clip so that I can easily carry around my assignments. The office is also full of various types of equipment for use. Last but not least I have had the ability to have e-mail communication with the doctor which has helped a great deal in many ways. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Chris or Dr. Colleen.

  Top-notch Physical Therapists, and the most warm, friendly and welcoming team you can hope for (I look forward to my sessions there!). Colleen has been guiding me through therapy for a back problem since some weeks now, and the difference is amazing! If you're looking for a professional, empathetic and effective physical therapy experience - I highly recommend Northern Hills.
