“I tried breast feeding and found it to be extremely painful and unpleasant. I thought this was supposed to come naturally for a woman and yet every time I tried to feed my son I cried. I called a lactation consultant and she referred me to Maria immediately. Maria was able to identify that my son had a lip and tongue tie which explained the excruciating feedings. She worked with us through the process of his revision and breast feeding there after. Maria met with me several times a week to practice breast feeding techniques and check in regarding the revision process. We also began taking our son for Cranial Sacral Therapy at the Balanced Baby Clinic to help with tension patterns related to lip/tongue tie. My expectation was that after his revision, I would breast feed pain free yet this was not the case. My husband,son and I met with Maria and Alyssa for several weeks as they embraced the whole family throughout this process. We began to notice our son’s once rigid posture relax more with each session. He was happier and calmer every week given his strides with therapy. I also began to notice a tremendous difference in breast feeding as his once tight latch began to loosen as a result of therapy. My son is 10 weeks old and had I not had Maria’s support I would have given up breast feeding all together. What was once one of the most painful experiences has become one of the most beautiful and we owe that all to Maria and Post Partum Place.”
