This is a wonderful point to begin a short walk or long hike -- trail maps are available here -- or just to visit to take in the scenery, butterfly garden, meadows and nearby Black River. “Great location and great staff (or great family as it seems to be family owned, they live there.) Owner has great knowledge about the lake. They also have all the tackles and supplies that you may ever need to fish a like, including tanks of live shiners, although the price is on the high side compared to getting them from megastores or online. But if you just need a few items, it's definitely better than making a separate trip. A big plus is that they are open at least till early October, when a lot of other rentals are closed, even though the weather is still good (actually I like the autumn weather better than summer).”
