Shelter Cove Park

Decent park with a small bay beach and bathroom facilties.

Cozy & quiet beach on the bay away from the crazy ocean beach season. Went on a Friday afternoon and it was $7 per person. Age 62 and older can buy a lifetime beach pass for Shelter Cove and Ortley beach for $15.
There were 2 volleyball nets set up, a parking lot, and convenient bathroom on site which I didn't use so I cannot describe it. There is not a concession stand on site so you will need to bring snacks and drinks, unless you drive out to the highway for lunch and go back.
Mostly women with small children, but very well behaved. The swim area is roped off and there is a lifeguard on duty until 5.
It's definitely a great place to relax by the water without the craziness of the ocean beach crowds and traffic.

Small beach with bath pavilion and outside rinsing shower. Play ground. Board walk half way down to water. Large parking lot. Area connected to soccer fields baseball tennis basketball. Easy access for large vehicles. Tiny waves if any. Great for little ones.

We enjoyed the beach here today. It's wading water and if you come with little ones, I highly recommend floaties!! There's a playground in the sand and bathrooms on site as well. Parking was free (the beach was too! But I don't know if this is all year or just the off season). It's a little beach, perfect for families with little ones. Bring toys, blanket, and enjoy!
