  Have been with the Team for 15 years and loved every minute of it.. The program is focused self defense that builds confidence, situational awareness and problem solving skills when in a tight situations. Martial arts in not just an instrument used to teach fighting, but if incorporated to your daily life it teaches you to how to remain calm and handle almost anything life throws at you. Beside all the skills one acquires you also make new friends that last a lifetime.. You learn self defense gain confidence and grow a passion to live a healthier lifestyle .. Oss!!!

  This is an amazing place to come and train the best martial art, Jiu Jitsu. You'll learn a lot and feel great! Discipline, respect, and comaraderie are what naturally come from training here. Highly, highly recommend this dojo!

  My son loves training here and we feel like a part of the family. The passion of teaching can be felt the moment you walk in, Sensei Edson develops a bond with the kids teaching respect and discipline and having fun at the same time. I highly recommend this place to all generations that want to learn BJJ or Judo.

  Carvalho Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is one of the longest running BJJ and Judo schools in the state of New Jersey. Excellent instructors and a great training environment for competitors and hobbyists alike.
  The academy has lockers, changing rooms, and shower. I also want to add the cleanest mats in North Jersey. If you want to learn the grappling arts, this is the place to be!

  My daughter goes to this school. I speak from experience and personally know many of the local bjj instructors. Edson is a legitimate honest black belt instructor for judo and bjj. The mat is clean and the classes are friendly while maintaining a high level of training. You will learn real judo and bjj here, in a comfortable setting, and get a great work out. Whether you are looking to take your game to the next level or get in shape and learn the basics of self defense, this is a great place to train.
