  Pretty good school. Seems old but when you walk inside as you see the banners it's actually pretty young. Feels old but it's really not. It seems like a pretty good place to go to school here.

  Honestly, Schalick is a great school, and has a great educating staff behind them. Although I do feel like some full time teachers still working there need to be fired. Not all of them, but a few teachers are teachers for the pay check, not because they want to help better the young minds around them. I feel like the school focuses on things like a strict dress code and other side rules, more then they focus on a child's education, and whats being taught in the classroom.
  
  With that being said, I want to give a big shout out, and huge recommendation to the 2 teachers that changed my life, and my high school experience. Mr. Hirschopf, and Mr. Pierangeli. These teachers go way beyond the regular teaching ethics. They are always there to help, and always keep in mind there students best interest. These 2 teachers really prepared ME for college, more then any of the faculty members at Schalick HS.
  
  Mr. Hirschopf was my English teacher, and is such an open minded person. He was the one that showed me how you can look an things differently. I loved his odd way of teaching, and his understanding of where we are in our lives, as high school students. I enjoyed how he would give advice to better us, based on his past experiences. He enjoyed class discussions, and let his students ask why. We read something, then discuss it thoroughly, and pick it apart to help us better understand the material, and what it was symbolizing. Little did i know then, but symbolism is a big part in college English. I truly believe if Hirschopf was not my English teacher in high school, I would be having a really hard time in English. I dedicate my A in college English to him.
  
  Mr. Pierangeli was also one of my favorite teachers. He is such an amazing level headed guy. He always explained, and showed his students that there is a grey area to everything. He found open discussions with his class to be motivating and eye opening for his students. There were barely any other teachers that felt like an open discussion was a good strategy to teach there class what needed to be learned. I can honestly say, in his class, I've learned more information on history and political problems, then I have in the prior 11 years of schooling. I loved that he made his students write in a journal about new topics that were going on at the time, and make them have to really understand what was going on, and give there opinion. I still am not as politically aware now, as i was when i was taking his class. Mr. P cares about his students, and is always willing to help, no questions asked. He is really a great guy. I feel like Mr. P's awesome teaching skills in History, is the reason why I'm doing so well in my college history classes.
  
  These teachers are some of the few that really make a difference in this school. Thank you guys for everything you've done for me personally, and for adding a little spice into that school, and into students lives.
