I want to highlight a positive experience and give a shout-out to a local business because not too many people take the time to do that. Recently I purchased a used vehicle (06 Hyundai Sonata) that had a really odd transmission issue. I attempted to work on the vehicle myself but I couldn’t figure it out so I brought it to Hillsborough Transmission & Auto Service. Gary tried absolutely everything over a 10 day period to fix the car and he was communicative and honest throughout the entire process. Today I picked the vehicle up and it’s in GREAT condition. What was even better was that Gary only charged me just under $300 despite how much work he did. He really did me a favor when I was scared that this vehicle wouldn’t make it. He has a loyal customer in me now and I will confidently recommend him to everyone needing service on their vehicle.
This place is awesome. Had a great experience with a clutch replacement many many years ago on a Subaru and just called Gary up with what I thought was a transmission issue on my 4Runner. Even though he was super busy, he took the time right away to take a look and diagnose the issue for me. Hard to find honest, kind, skilled mechanics like this... highly recommended.
