  Enjoyed the trails, and seeing all the nature. The trail had newts all over, and chipmunks, and the mushrooms were so colorful!
  We even found some cut roses placed around the trails. BEAUTIFUL!!

  Great state park in North Jersey, as it is the highest point in the state it offers really nice unobstructed views in 360°. Getting to the top, there are two options the easy way to just drive up and the hiking trail which is about 3.5 miles around. I recommend the trail as you can get some nice vistas overlooking the valleys. I would definitely recommend getting some sort of hiking shoes as you will be hiking up steeper trails with just rocks to step on. There a lot more trails to explore including part of the Appalachian Trail. Worth the drive from South Jersey.

  one of the best state parks I’ve been to in Jersey so far. The views from the monument is breath taking, even the views from anywhere you are in the park is just amazing. Whether you live in NJ or just passing through, this is definitely a spot you should go to to decompress and just take in the nature that surrounds us all.

  My husband and I took a 2 hour drive to Stokes State forest and High Point State park yesterday. I have never been to High Point but had always wanted to go. On the internet it just seemed like a place we would enjoy. I was right. Pretty much only drove through the park looking for bear since it was very windy and cold. Stopped at the scenic overlooks, which had incredible views. Noticed they have a great beach area on a lake near the monument, with a very spacious picnic table area. Doesn't seem like much in print but when you're driving through a forest, mind you, a beautiful, well kept forest and you come across a beach on one of many wonderful lakes, it's awesome! The monument is a must! The views from there are amazing! You can see for miles all the way around the monument. I'm only guessing you can go in and climb to the top of the monument but it was closed for the season for us. It was a great day!

  Very Lovely Park. While there is not a ton to see here, it does offer a large view over the area around it. High Point State Park being the highest elevation, there is a road leading up the monument so people from all walks of life can make it. With that being said, I only gave this park a 5 for it being "one of a kind" because of it being the highest elevation (in NJ). There isn't a large amount of trails or options but it does give a beautiful view of the area for very little effort. At the top, there is a mini Washington Monument that goes up another 200ft that you can summit by paying only $1 and climbing the stairs.
