It's an amazing path that takes you through a beautiful marsh area on a wooden boardwalk. You can keep going through the forest walk through a field with cows and then climb the side if the mountain. An amazing hike if you have a day off
Simply put, the Appalachian Boardwalk trail in North Jersey just south of the NY border is one of the most picturesque hikes in the area. And, while it's not particularly challenging, the hike across the highway called "stairway to heaven" is one of the most challenging hikes we do regularly. For a great day, start on the far side, walk the boardwalk, do stairway, then do the boardwalk in reverse. A little over 7 miles altogether; great workout, awesome photo ops!
Such a lovely walk. Easy, flat, but watch out for the bugs! Would def recommend.
I have hiked it at least 3 times.it is very scenic. Parking is hard on weekends. It is better to go on week day.the boardwalk is nice.some parts are thin on boardwalk
Lovely for a walk. Just FYI those with small children there is no railing on the side... My kids were fine but they are pretty sensible about these kind of things.
