“I just went to the Homestead for the first time in a long time which is bizarre since I live right down the road. The restaurant was decorated beautifully for Christmas which got me in the Christmas spirit and I ended up buying new Christmas decorations when I left. My dinner was very good. I got one of the specials and it didn't disappoint. Our waitress was friendly and great with my one-year-old son. It was a good experience all together.”

“Had some dinner with my brother. The food was very good and our waitress was great. Started off with quesadillas. Chicken and cheese. Sour cream and salsa on the side. My brother and I ordered the black and blue burger with waffle fries and onion rings. I like the bun it came on. To top it off we had rice pudding and coffee. The coffee I thought was good. Overall the the diner is clean and modern looking. I will go back next time I am in beautiful Sussex County”

“Please see UPDATE below. The Sussex Queen has been a favorite of mine for decades, conveniently located on Rt.23N. They serve-up classic comfort food fast and at reasonable prices. Service is EXCELLENT as is the food. The wait staff, some working there as long as I can remember, are exceptionally friendly and attentive. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Sussex Queen! ???? UPDATE: After DECADES of comfy meals and familiar faces, something has changed... Sometime around the end of September (2018) a new owner took over managing the Sussex Queen, and re-named it the "Sit and Chat Diner". I understand some of the staff from the original Sussex Queen remained on, but I don't know that as fact yet. Will update again when more is known. “If you are anywhere near the area run, don't walk, to Chappy's. This restaurant is so awesome! The food is all scratch made and is chef quality. The portions are generous so you will definitely not be hungry. Today we tried the apple pancakes special. First, when they say huge it is no joke. Then the homemade apple compote on top was divine. I said it was basically like a giant apple cake. Simple meals like eggs, home fries and toast are elevated with homemade toast and delicious home fries. Add in super friendly staff, fun conversation with the owner, and very reasonable prices and you can't go wrong. This our new favorite restaurant!”

“We were working a job near by and found this place by accident. We stopped back here for lunch every day we were there cause the pizza is terrific. Honestly the best I've had in this area and definitely the best in miles. Like ten miles easy... No exaggeration... And there are Plenty of pizza places around. I've considered driving from Newton just to get pizza from here. I can think of at least 4 places I'd pass on my way there and they can't compete. Excellent pizza. The best around.”

“So im currently deployed overseas and i get an alert on my phone from hardyston fire dept (which i am a member) that they are being dispatch to a house explosion in the middle of the night, after a couple of hours of listening in and checking on everybody I decided to order a large amount of pizza to be dropped off at the fire House for the guys. Dominos was open and were more than happy to help. Now I'm on a few thousand miles away but from what the guys said it was great pizza while out all night working in near freezing temps. The time it took for ten pies to be made and delivered was only about 40 minutes and the cashier gave a coupon seeing it was for the guys. A+ establishment and should be commended on their dedication to the community”

“My family loves Granny's. The staff is always pleasant. The bathrooms are always clean. The food is consistently delicious. We've been eating there for about 10 years. They've never gotten our orders wrong or served us anything that wasn't freshly prepared and tasty. I don't know what kinds of magic they do with their home fries but they are the best we've ever had. They know how to make amazing homemade soups and pies too. I don't think they serve anything that comes out of a can. If you're more impressed by ambiance than the quality of your meal, this is not a good fit for you. The decor is kitchy and not ironically kitchy. The plates, mugs and utensils are mismatched garage sale finds.”
