Mt Tammany Red Dot Trail

I'd go there everyday if I could. Many people quit before making it to the top. It's not that hard. Pace yourself. Take breaks, drink water, but keep going at your pace. No need to rush or compete. Take the red dot trail to the top. I took the blue trail down but next time I'll do red trail to come down. Download AllTrails app for assistance before you head up there.

Breath taking view from the summit point if the Red trail . After which you can embark on your hike to Blue trail which has few beautiful waterfalls and view along.
The hike has an altitude gain of 800 ft every one mile with a total of 1200 ft elevation at the summit. Loved the hike with its curves and rocky boulder trail setup.
Red trail is simpler downhill and you cross few beautiful waterfalls and a bridge did good photo sessions .

Fun challenging trail. Multiple areas with good views. Went up red trail and down blue trail. There are two parking lots for hikers, but go early as possible. This is a popular site and spots fill up fast.

My first trip in this area. Moderate trail not very difficult. Takes about an hour and a half on a leisurely done upward journey. Good scenes around to see. Went up in red trail and came down in blue trail which was much easier. Blue goes along the stream and red around the mountains. Good half a day spot.

Phenomenal hike. We went up the red and down the blue. Trail was well marked and weather was everything. I’d recommend red up, blue down. Red trail up, you get a tease of a dope view and it keeps you motivated to keep pushing to the top. Definitely some loose rocks and steep but you’ll make it through; i was legit monkey crawling up those rocks. The summit is AMAZING! so worth everything that was done to get up there. We hung out there and ate lunch; pretty populated but people are cool. Blue down is not as strenuous, although it is rocky. It has a lot of cool features where you can wind down- so I took it as a leisurely descent and enjoyed all that we encountered: a beautiful water fall and a lake that you can swim in.

Other than that, I’d highly recommend. I’m a fairly new hiker, not quite as fit but I didn’t find the hike challenging. A lot of kids and dogs on the trail too! Take your time and you’ll be fine.
