“I had been going to my family Dr for years and had been reasonably happy with the care I had been receiving. Then I began becoming incredibly fatigued and complaining that someone had unplugged my battery. Many blood tests were performed and never any unusual results to explain my fatigue. I was told it was merely due to the stressful activities that I was going through daily accompanied with my age. Then the fevers, inflammation, ( knees swelling to the size of volley balls) rashes and crippling pain set in. With the development of the visible symptoms my case was being looked at a little more seriously. However, after years of referrals leading nowhere but misdiagnosis my condition became very serious. I really became convinced that I was going to continue to deteriorate until it was too late by the time an accurate diagnosis was made. A persistent neighbor and friend finally convinced me to make an appointment with Dr. DeShaw. I thought that it was possible I had lyme disease but the Drs. I had seen either said I was negative or said that a recent test was negative and that there was no need to repeat the test for lyme. A local lyme specialist who had seen me and said I had every symptom of chronic latent lyme had not tested me because I was tested 4 months earlier and the results were negative. His diagnosis was probably the most ridiculous and had I followed his course of treatment I would not be able to write this or possibly not be here at all. I cannot thank Dr. DeShaw and the rest of the team at Affiliated enough for the care I have received. My condition was so grave by the time I was seen by Dr. DeShaw that I actually set record for a while. Although I can truly write a book about my experience with lyme and the co-infections I will try and conclude this review now. I consider myself fortunate to have become a patient of Dr. Deshaw's and have improved considerably. I highly recommend Dr. DeShaw, especially for the hard to diagnose patients.”
