“Montessori Academy and Learning Center was recommended to me by my friends. My son at the time, had never been to school and I'm embarrassed to say, as the baby of the family, was completely spoiled rotten. I have spent years teaching pre-k and learning through play has always been important to me. I never focused on standard ways of teaching for my son as I believed he would learn when he was ready. When my son first started, he had a lot of difficulties acclimating himself to routines and following instructions and absolutely no pencil control. Despite the hard time he gave the school, they were steadfast and consistent in their encouragement and work with him. I appreciated the open phone calls and willingness to work on his behavior from both sides. As the year progressed, I was very impressed with everything he was learning in addition to all of the milestones he was surpassing. My goal was to have him used to school and have a foundation of knowledge for when he goes to kindergarten. What he achieved as a result of attending Montessori Academy and Learning Center was so much more. The Learning Center is small and yet everyone is very welcoming and inclusive. The owner and other admin really care about children and do their best to accommodate everyone, including financially. I felt that my son was well taken care of, made a lot of friends and learned a lot. Instead of being used to school and some foundation of knowledge that I expected, my son will now be going in kindergarten with advanced knowledge. He has started reading and has matured in ways that he never could have had he stayed home. If you are looking for a school with a supportive community where your child will thrive, I would recommend Montessori Academy and Learning Center every time.”

“I've been going here ever since I was in kindergarten and it has been a really great experience. I've met many great friends and really when some thing needs to be fixed, we get it fixed. Nurse Nancy is an amazing nurse serving any student that is sick or has gotten hurt. Mrs.Kapp, which is my teacher, is a great teacher and so far i've learned a lot from her. The only problem is that there isn't enough equipment for recess and most of the time me and my friends are sitting there talking to each other while watching the kids that got the ball and are sometimes only holding it in there hand for like five minutes, we always play 4-square and the other kids get the rubber ball. But other than that the school is great. I recommend this to other parents for their child.”

“I started with her online after my other piano teacher had to shut down her lessons due to the COVID quarantine. I was a little hesitant about the online lessons, but found that I enjoy them just as much if not more than in person lessons. She has a beautiful flowing system that prevents technical difficulties and the lessons were became more flexible with my busy schedule, as I am still a student. Rose teaches more than just the notes and symbols in the music, and takes time to teach about the composer or the history of the music which helps to understand and play the music to a better extent. I have found myself having grown tremendously over the 2 years I’ve been with her. Each lesson is fun, exciting, and one of the best parts of my week.”

“Thursday Morning Club is a volunteer woman's club in existence since 1896. In 1924 TMC built the Madison Community House and to this day we still own and operate the MCH. We offer the Madison Community House Preschool. The children have a 4 day week from 9:00 - 11:30 or 1:00. We offer Enrichment Classes from preschool children. Two large bright and cheery classrooms, large playground and on snowy or rainy days the children can play in our gym and still be active. Besides preschool, the TMC runs the Before and After School Child Care (BASCC) which is held at the three Madison Elementary schools. We also offer after school enrichment classes. The Madison Community House also serves as a meeting place for more than 25 local organizations and Dress for Success operates their organization out of our building. We are a non-profit organization. We are members of the NJ Federation of Women's Clubs (NJSFWC) since 1900 and the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC); which is an international organization since 1907. The TMC's rich and vibrant history continues to be reflected in the current membership that exhibits a spirit of unity, volunteerism, and stewardship.”
