All of the vets, techs and staff are knowledgeable and do a great job explaining health issues and what the options are. We moved further away from the hospital 6 years ago so my travel time to and from has doubled but it's a drive I don't mind making in order to keep the pups healthy.”

“Dr. Maria Cruz, the primary vet is listed here, for what reason I'm not sure. She is not the sole provider of animal care here, she is just the vet (there may be others, but I have not seen them). The name of this business is the Byram Animal Hospital. I have been impressed with Dr. Cruz's bedside manner, which is rather silly when you're dealing with animals, but a necessity, if you think about it. She and her staff focus on your pet, treat it with respect, and are very thorough. They have maintained my elderly dog's seizure medication for some time. I have 2 dogs and a cat. I'm lucky that I took my cat in to get microchipped, because they told me that he was due for some shots and a check up. I was told to bring a stool sample with me. The very next day, I got a call from one of the receptionists - "He's full of worms!" she exclaimed. Luckily, they prescribed medication, and he goes in later this month to see if he has been treated properly/enough. I really feel like they go the extra mile. One could seem cynical and say that they are trying to up-sell, but I wouldn't necessarily disagree with that. Their prices are also...significant. My cat's medication cost just under $50 - for 4 pills. Then, on top of the microchipping, review of my dog's Phenobarbital levels (for seizures, and a general, though brief, examination of my pup, the total came to nearly the $300 mark - not including the medication. Personally, I felt that the total was a bit high, but I don't have much experience with other veterinarians - nor do I feel that I will, at least for a long time. It's worth the money to me to see that my animals are taken care of, particularly as they push past their golden years - my dogs are 12 and 14. I would recommend Dr. Cruz and her team to anyone, but they need to know in advance that services rendered will likely not be cheap. This does not vilify the BAH for me, because I know that my pets will be well taken care of -and, though I said before that I had little experience with vets) my mother does, and she tells me that this is not beyond the going rate for work performed, Office staff is friendly, office is clean, and pets are treated with love, care, and compassion. What more could one expect of an animal hospital/veterinarian? Two thumbs up!”

“Dr. Elia is the most caring and dedicated vet I have ever known. My 11 year old dog has been sick for the past month and we were at our wits end. Poor Sparky was getting worse every day. He wasn't eating or drinking and cried all night long. UNRELENTING, Dr. Elia developed a medicinal protocol that began working. Today Sparky sat by the table begging! We are taking one day at a time but I appreciate every single hour I have with him. Dr. Elia worked diligently to getting Sparky better! She is such a credit to her profession that I wish she were my primary care physician. She is a gift to her patients and I thank God every day for her, I know you will too. If you are looking for a vet - look no further. She is the best. Her staff are friendly and caring. Every single one of them are wonderful..the receptionist, the assistants and the groomer create a loving environment for both you and your pet. “Wow, wow, and wow. We can't say enough good about this place! They are just so nice! We are not full time residents, but had brought our dog in after he ate an Advil (can be very dangerous). Everyone was terrific and got us in on short notice even on a Friday afternoon. The reception personnel and assistants were great and the doctor her self was awesome.
