This has some unexplainable beauty that can only be experienced personally. From the friendly neighbors on horses happy to sharing the trails to the awesome inspiring motivated individuals happily sharing their love for fitness. This is more than a workout area its a great place to bring your littles and teach them about New Mexico rural natural beauty by the banks. I never have my phone out for a picture because we truly enjoy it here.
The Rio Grande Valley State Park is a gem of Albuquerque. It is long (16 mi) & narrow, running along the river through the heart of the city. It includes the Nature Center and Paseo del Bosque, a paved multi-use recreational trail which runs its full length. Off the paved trail are dozens of earthen trails meandering through the Bosque (the Cottonwood forest along the river banks). Picnic tables are scattered throughout. And the paved trail affords direct access to a number of important venues, such as the Botanic Garden & The Nat'l Hispanic Cultural Center.
Love this place. A lot of walking and biking trails. Handicap accessible. Trails leading to a beautiful lake and small beach area. $3 parking. Easy trails for the whole family .
Been taking our kids here for the last decade or so. Nice park to explore on our way to the hiking trails along the Rio Grande with a small informative visitor center. Only $3 to park for the entire day and worth it for the easy access to the surrounding area.
One of my favorite places to go and walk around. A very easy trail, good for bringing kids or pets. In winter you'll get to see the birds in the river. Great place year round. $3 for parking, but hard to find parking on weekends on vacations!
