From my very first appointment I was filled with hope. They recognized the grave danger I was to myself and I started an addiction group that very next day. I like to say everyone including others in the group “loved” me until I could love myself. At the time, that’s what I needed. The groups were raw and real. No sugar coating so you can really get to the root of your addiction. They treat you with kindness and respect. They know when to challenge you to help you help yourself. When I started here I was so far in my addiction I didn’t think I could get out. A seed was planted. I wanted sobriety so bad even if I didn’t know how to get it. I promised myself May 17th, 2018 that I didn’t want to feel that way anymore and even though I didn’t know how, I would figure it out along the way. I’m now coming up on 4 years of sobriety! At 28, I graduated with my GED and I’m now enrolled in college to help others like how A New Awakening helped me. Give this place a chance. They might just be the beginning of the rest of your life.”
